Family Therapy
Family relationship dynamics can play an essential role in the happiness and health of the individuals and the entire family unit. Family therapy at Yolanda Fihla’s practice can help your family address any dysfunctional patterns, conflicts, and challenges you and your family face.
All families have a unique family structure and communication style, each facing its own challenges.
Reasons to consider family counselling
Conflicts between family members - Often, when two people in the family unit are facing conflict, it can create a ripple effect, causing an unpleasant environment for everyone in the family unit. Whether it’s between siblings, parents, or a mix, therapy can help you with conflict resolution skills.
When one person in the family has dependency issues - This can affect everyone in the family financially and emotionally and often results in a lack of trust and an unhealthy dynamic that needs to be addressed. It can also be helpful for the family to seek therapy even when the person has not sought treatment yet.
One person or the entire family has experienced a traumatic incident or loss. - In that case, therapy can support your family through grief or trauma, or help you navigate divorce or separation.
What to expect during family therapy
Yolanda will help you and your family explore family roles and the communication patterns that are holding you back and provide solutions to work through these issues. You may also be assigned ‘homework’ to do between sessions.
