Anger is a normal emotion that everyone feels from time to time. However, if you find you are feeling intensely angry frequently, then you may benefit from anger management therapy. Angry outbursts and rage can affect the quality of your relationships and negatively affect your home or work life.

Anger management with Yolanda will guide you to explore stressors that set you off into a rage, examine the thoughts leading up to your rage, and give you strategies to handle stressors constructively.

When should you consider anger management?

  • Friends and family have voiced concern about your anger and how you behave when angry. In addition, they may have distanced themselves from you due to your anger.
  • You’ve been asked to leave work or public places due to your anger.
  • You have previously hurt people verbally or physically.
  • You’ve caused damage to property as a result of your anger.
  • You often regret the things you did or said when you were angry.
  • Small things make you angry, and you find it hard to control.

What to expect in anger management therapy

Yolanda will help by identifying stressors that cause anger and your responses - knowing your triggers can help you avoid them and learn coping skills to manage stressors.

In addition, she will help with the following:

  • Learning healthy coping mechanisms and strategies through avoidance and distraction. Some strategies include; relaxation techniques, role-playing scenarios, and examining your thinking processes.
  • Learn healthy and constructive communication skills to express yourself without aggression assertively.
  • Learn how to repair and restore the relationships that have been damaged as a result of your anger.
